Welcome to my small store, which includes my books and current services. My Events Schedule is located right HERE.

Animal Communication Sessions are available for those who have lost an animal companion, and have lingering questions or concerns. To do this work, I require a photo or two of your animal friend, and a list of the questions you would like answered. Please contact me if you are interested.

Below, you will find brief synopses of my books.  Soon, I'll include information on ordering limited titles from me at discount rates. The rest can be ordered from your favorite bookseller, or at Amazon.com.

Animals as Teachers and Healers

“Susan Chernak McElroy credits her astounding triumph over cancer to the love of the animals in her life. In Animals as Teachers & Healers she shares her remarkable story along with true stories from others who have been touched by the loving energies of animals. Unique and compelling, Animals as Teachers & Healers invites us to reconnect with the boundless gifts of joy, wisdom, and deep healing that flow from our ageless and intimate relationship with the animal kingdom.

Why Buffalo Dance

In this elegantly written and illustrated book, Susan Chernak McElroy offers a series of short essays -- meditations and teaching tales -- based on animals and the natural world. Each piece can be used as a starting point for meditation practice or read as it is. With McElroy's poetic language, even these so-called inanimate parts of the wild... are vibrant and alive, offering their gifts to any who stop and pay attention.”

Heart in the Wild

“Once again, Susan Chernak McElroy has demonstrated her uncanny ability to take the reader with her into the wild places and to open communication with our companions on this earth…Her sensitivity and passion for Nature and the creatures of Nature act as a prism through which we can see into our hearts...and see there a reflection of that larger world.

Animals as Guides for the Soul

“In Animals as Teachers and Healers (1997), McElroy attributed her recovery from cancer in part to a kitten's grace and to her totem animal (Gaia, a wolf), who helped her visualize healing. Here, she explores spirituality and communication in the human-animal relationship…few will deny that McElroy offers bountiful food for thought and meditation.”

All My Relations

“Susan Chernak McElroy…has long believed that animals offer solace as well as lessons in living to anyone willing to listen. In her bestseller Animals As Teachers and Healers, she told others' stories of the healing power of animals. In this book, she tells her own. Included are suggestions for practices and meditations that will guide readers into deeper connection…with those creatures with whom they share their lives.”

Courting the Wild: Love Affairs with the Land (co-edited by Susan Chernak McElroy and Dr. Jamie Reeser)

“Do you remember the first time you fell in love? Within these pages you will find love stories: rapturous love affairs with the land and the landscape, shameless seductions, betrothals, vows exchanged, marriages of the soul, heartaches, partings, healings, and renewals. The authors are the courters and the courted, embraced by their landscape paramours. Beautiful reading for anyone who has ever felt---or longed for---the love of place.”
